Bank Robbery Suspect Sought

Elk Grove police ask for public's help

Elk Grove police seek help identifying a male suspect involved in a bank robbery on the 9200 block of Elk Grove Florin Road today.

At 11:59 a.m., a man in his late 20s handed a U.S. Bank teller a note, indicating he was armed and demanding money, according to Elk Grove Police Department Public Information Officer Christopher Trim.

The teller gave him an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency, and the suspect left the bank. He was last seen walking in the parking lot towards the rear of the building moments before a blue Nissan or Toyota sedan sped out of the lot, witnesses said.

Authorities say it is unknown whether the blue sedan is connected with today’s robbery.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian male, 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing 200 pounds with black hair, black rimmed glasses and a dark-colored beard that is possibly fake. He was wearing a black jacket with a light-colored shirt and dark-colored pants.
