Do you need to be an Elk Grove resident to receive the free rabies shot/license? I live just north of Calvine at Elk Grove-Florin Road. Thank you.

Hi Lisa,
Thanks for your inquiry. Yes, you do have to be an Elk Grove resident to receive the free rabies vaccine and year-long pet license. You'll be asked for ID and it must state "Elk Grove" as the city. If you have additional questions, please feel free to contact Kittel Family Veterinary Practice at (916) 714-5387.

Lisa--The free rabies shots will be offered in a few Sacramento-area locations. Here's a link to the flyer: http://svvma.com/Portals/0/World%20Rabies%20Day%20Flyer%202011.pdf

Lisa and other non-EG residents: The clinic just contacted us again with some updated information about this event. People who live outside Elk Grove but in Sacramento County can get the free vaccines. However, the free one-year licensing deal only applies to Elk Grove residents.
