Clothing drive for Elk Grove Food Bank

Elk Grove Laguna Forums is proud to partner with Leatherby's Creamery in Elk Grove to collect clothing for the Elk Grove Food Bank clothes closet. We often hear that providing for those less fortunate is something that should be done privately and not by the government. Here is our chance to do something to help out and also help clean out our own homes. We all have clothes we no longer need or use, or have kids that have outgrown their clothes. I just went through my closet and had 4 large trash bags of clothes.

The Food Bank does a great job helping out the homeless and less fortunate in our area. They are always in need of clothing. With winter approaching one of the biggest needs is jackets, especially for children. Another big need is socks.

From September 15-21, You can drop off your donations at the following locations:

  • Leatherby’s Creamery in Elk Grove, 8238 Laguna Blvd., between 11 am - 11 pm.
  • Elk Grove Food Bank location at 9820 Dino Drive, Suite 140, between 9 am - 1:30 pm, Monday-Friday

Many people can't drop off their donations during the hours the Food Bank is open, so this is a perfect opportunity to drop off your clothing during their off hours.

I will be personally picking up the clothing dropped off at Leatherby's and delivering it to the Food Bank.

Everyone who donates clothing will be entered into a raffle to win a $50 gift basket from Leatherby's. Just ask a cashier at Leatherby's or volunteer at the Food Bank for a raffle entry. Fill it out and return it to them.

In addition to that, any Elk Grove Laguna Forums member who donates clothing during that week will be entered into a drawing just for our members for a $15 gift certificate to Leatherby's. If we have enough support, we may give away 2 gift certificates. This will be on the honor system, so all you have to do is post here that you did it.

Let's all come together and make an impact in our community!

A big thank you to Leatherby's for partnering with us in this endeavor in what will hopefully be the first of many opportunities to help out our community.
