Dog Abandoned in Storm Drain Finds New Home

Honey (formerly Stormie) was thrown into a 25-foot storm drain with a bicycle lock wrapped around her legs.

A dog thrown into a south Sacramento storm drain with a bicycle lock wrapped around her legs last week has found a new home.

The dog, which was pulled unharmed from the 25-foot storm drain by police, fire and animal control officials, was quickly named Stormie. She has been renamed Honey, and was adopted Monday, the Sacramento County Animal Shelter said:

"Last week we brought you the heartbreaking story of a dog bound and dumped in a storm drain and subsequently saved by our amazing officers. Stormie, now Honey, has found her very own family with mom Vicki and 2 cats! We all waited anxiously to meet her new mom today and we wholeheartedly approve! Check out their connection!"
