Elk Grove Boulevard/SR 99 Interchange Modifications Project Breaks Ground
City officials say the project is expected to be complete in the summer of 2014.
One less traffic signal on Elk Grove Boulevard? Yes, that’s right.
The northbound on-ramp to SR-99 is being relocated to the south on East Stockton Boulevard, next to the existing off-ramp. Eastbound motorists heading north onto 99 will turn right, instead of left, so the signal at the northbound on-ramp can be removed.
Westbound travelers will continue to turn right onto the existing northbound on-ramp. A new signal will be built on East Stockton at the on/off-ramps and also serve as the new entrance to the Village Shopping Center.

Other ramp improvements include adding a deceleration lane to the existing northbound off-ramp and widening the existing southbound off-ramp. The work, which begins in early September, will improve traffic flow when completed. The project is funded primarily with a state grant from Proposition 1B.
