Community Corner

May 13–15: Down the Rabbit Hole, All That Jazz, More

Here's what's happening in and around Elk Grove this weekend.

This weekend is extra-special: It's the only Friday the 13th we have for the rest of the year, so make it a good one.  No need to avoid stepping under a ladder or walking on a crack in the sidewalk; instead, download Stevie Wonder's Superstition and blast it with enthusiasm.  Once that's done, don your "green" attire and show the community your super swing at the Cosumnes Legacy Foundation Golf Tournament.  It's just one of the five exciting activities we have planned for you this time around.  Pick your favorite and have at it; four-leaf clover for good luck is optional.

1.

Where/When: Emerald Lakes Golf Course, Friday 2 p.m.  (Registration starts at noon; shotgun start at 2 p.m.)

Why Go: Love to golf?  This is the event for you:  Nine holes, bag lunch, barbecue tri-tip dinner, awards and a raffle are all part of the fun.  Support the Cosumnes Legacy Foundation, which helps local parks, fire safety programs and various other projects of the Cosumnes Community Services District.

Pricing: $50 per player, $20 per dinner guest
