Here's what's happening in and around Elk Grove today.

Leave it to the Cosumnes Community Services District to think of ways to entertain us.  If you haven't already looked at their current Activity Guide, visit www.yourcsd.com and take a glance at the numerous classes for adults and kids.  These three highlights focus on kids' sports and a contest for everyone.

Slam-dunk.  There's still time to sign your seven- to 12-year-old daughter up for She's Got Game Girls Basketball League from October 8 through January 14, 2012.  Seven practices and eight games will keep her busy practicing rim shots and learning all about teamwork.  Click here for registration and location information.
