The Wake-Up Call: Healthy Kids, Book Sale

Here's what's happening in and around Elk Grove today.

Happy Bonza Bottler Day!  This Aussie-named, American-founded phenomenon occurs monthly when the day and month number are the same. Here are three events to make your August 8 great.

This won't hurt a bit.  The Elk Grove Unified School District is offering free immunizations for K–12 students who lack health insurance, are eligible for Medi-Cal or are of American Indian descent. The first of three clinics will be held today from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Monterey Trail High School.  Call 916-686-5085 for details.

Calling all history buffs. Got something to say about Reese School Preservation or the sign violations in Old Town?  Speak up at the City of Elk Grove's Historic Preservation Committee Meeting, taking place at 6:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, 8400 Laguna Palms Way.
