Whodunit?  Mystery-lovers, come to JillieJacks' First Friday event and meet Gloria Galloway, author of Dead By My Side, a supernatural thriller set in Sacramento. She'll happily autograph your copy.  Stick around for some shopping and a stroll through Old Town to boot.

Country time. Dance to the music of Road 88 tonight at Laguna Town Hall, part of the Cosumnes Community Services District's Hot Summer Nights Concert Series, happening at the outdoor amphitheater.  Bring a low-back chair and settle in for some family-friendly entertainment.

Goal! Goal!  All you Hope Solos and Tim Howards out there, show us your fancy footwork at the inaugural Soccer for the Cure fundraiser at Joseph Sims Elementary School, a 24-hour game to benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure, organized by local resident Jonathan Stein in memory of his mother, whom he lost to breast cancer this year.
