Spotlight Elk Grove is Thurs.: Event Benefits Scholarship Foundation

The theme of the eighth-annual fundraiser is "Celebrating the Silver Screen."

Sept. 6 will be here before we know it, and it will be time for Spotlight Elk Grove. Once again, for the eighth year, the fundraising event for the Elk Grove Regional Scholarship Foundation will be held at Elk Grove’s famous SES Hall from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The Hall is the center of our Portuguese culture, and it is located at 10428 E. Stockton Boulevard near Grant Line Road and Highway 99.

The long-time specialty of Spotlight Elk Grove, and the one that sets it apart from other “tasting” events, is the opportunity for attendees to be attired in costumes from Hollywood and Broadway or anything that fits the occasion. The theme for Spotlight Elk Grove 2012 is “Celebrating the Silver Screen.”  The theme is in recognition of the 25 years that the foundation has been providing scholarships for our local students.  Attendees will have wonderful ideas for costumes from movies and shows of the past decades as well as costumes that celebrate our many cultures. They will all fit the 25 year theme. Attendees need to know that Oscars are given for the most creative costumes! However, costumes are a choice as attendees can wear what they want.

Tickets can be purchased at a number of places including all local Elk Grove and stores and from all foundation board members. Tickets are $35 and are available on the Foundation website – www.egcommunityfoundation.org. More information is available by calling 916-685-7118.
