City Warns of Two Weeks of 'Very Loud' Construction

The construction of a pedestrian and bicycle crossing over Highway 99 is about to get loud. Very loud.

The city of Elk Grove has begun work "pile driving" bridge foundations for the project on the east side of Highway 99, just north of Elk Grove Boulevard.

The city warns the work, which will take place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., "generates a lot of very LOUD noise."

The work should take about two weeks, the city says.

"Please bear with the City through this necessary operation," a city notice states. "We are making every attempt to limit noise and speed up construction to reduce inconvenience for nearby residents and businesses."
