UPDATE: Motorcyclist Killed in Elk Grove Crash

The crash was reported at 7:55 a.m. Friday.

UPDATE:
Elk Grove Police say a minivan turning left on Laguna Boulevard Friday morning hit a motorcyclist, killing the rider.

Police responded to the scene, in the 8200 block of Laguna Boulevard, at 7:55 a.m.

"Upon arrival, officers discovered that a minivan making a left turn from a designated turn lane on Laguna Boulevard had collided with a motorcyclist traveling westbound on Laguna Boulevard," the police department said in a press release. "The 52-year-old motorcycle driver was thrown from his vehicle as a result of the collision and suffered fatal injuries."

The name of the motorcyclist has not yet been released.

The driver of the minivan was not injured, and spoke to officers at the scene of the crash, authorities said.

The police department said it's still investigating the accident. Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call the Elk Grove Police Department Traffic Bureau at 916-478-8148.

Elk Grove Police are investigating a fatal crash between a motorcycle and a minivan in the 8200 block of Laguna Boulevard.

The department reported the crash just before 8:30 a.m. Friday.

"Westbound Laguna Blvd. From Laguna Springs Dr. will be closed for the next several hours while officers investigate the fatal collision," the department said on Twitter.
