Grass Fire Contained in Sheldon Area (UPDATE)

UPDATE: The fire is now contained, according to the Cosumnes Fire Department. The department says mop-up will take "hours."

"Still lots of smoke due to debris burning inside the burn perimeter," the department said on Twitter.

The fire was started by a tractor, the department said.

A firefighter and a civilian each received minor injuries.

Firefighters are battling a three-acre grass fire in the Sheldon area of Elk Grove Thursday afternoon.

The Cosumnes Fire Department reported the fire on Twitter around 2:15 p.m., saying it is burning near Pleasant Grove School and Grant Line roads. 

The fire is threatening structures, the fire department said.
