Elk Grove Cash Mob

Elk Grove Online, in its continued support of local businesses, is launching a Cash Mob initiative. The general idea is to encourage people to shop local and spend money -- no more than $20 -- and help stimulate the local economy.

What's a Cash Mob? It's only the latest, coolest way to buy local and support your community's businesses. Like a Flash Mob, a Cash Mob is orchestrated completely through social media; we'll generate support for the cause via Twitter, Facebook and other online new media outlets.

When are we doing this? Our first Cash Mob is scheduled for March 24, 2012, - National Cash Mob Day!

Locations:

Embellish Home Decor (12-3p)
9072 Elk Grove Boulevard

Terri Does Desserts (1-3pm)
6616 Laguna Blvd

Baja Burrito (4-7pm)
9015 Bruceville Rd

Why are we doing this? Well, the primary reason is to encourage people to buy local, as well as to help boost the profiles and the economy of our own local merchants. As an added bonus, it's just plain fun!

We have three goals we'd like our Cash Mobbers to reach for:
1.) Spend $20 (you can spend more if you want)
2.) Meet at least three people you've never met before
3.) Enjoy yourself!

How can you help? Like us on Facebook and Twitter @elkgroveonline, and meet us at the designated Cash Mob Meetup Time. You can also help out by getting the word out to your Facebook friends, Twitter followers!
