2012 3rd Annual Fittest of Elk Grove Competition / Health & Wellness Fair

Elk Grove, CA –The 2012 3rd Annual Fittest of Elk Grove Event is just around the corner. We are excited to announce that the City of Elk Grove, the Elk Grove Auto Mall, Sutter Health and Reebok are the major sponsors of the event along with other businesses in the community who are also supporting the event.

Brian Detrick and Charlie Zamora would like to spread awareness of health and fitness to the City of Elk Grove and surrounding areas and show that being healthy and fit is an important element of life.

This year there are 2 qualifying events that lead up to the finals. There are 3 divisions: Men, Women and Team. They have added age groups for the individual male and female divisions; 17 & under, 18-34, 35-49, 50+ and the team division still consist of two men and two women of any age. The two qualifying events will take place at gyms in the city on September 29th (@ CrossFit 916) and October 6th (@ WarriorZ Health & Fitness). The top 3 finishers in each division at each qualifier will advance to the finals. 

On October 21st, (@ Bartholomew Sports Complex), the Health & Wellness Fair will be the main focus while the finals of the Fittest of Elk Grove Competition and the WarriorZ Throwdown will be used as the entertainment aspect of the event. The WarriorZ Throwdown will be a CrossFit Exhibition that will feature the top men and women in CrossFit from Northern California. They will compete as a co-ed team but they will not know their partner until the day of the event. The top male and female could be paired up. Many are ranked top 20 in the world and a few are even ranked in the top 5.

Individuals and every team member must meet one of the following three requirements to be eligible to compete In the 2012 Fittest of Elk Grove Competition:

1) Be an Elk Grove City Resident

2) Be employed by a business that is within the city limits of Elk Grove

3) Currently attend a school in the Elk Grove Unified School District

Individual cost is $35; except 17 & under is $25.  Team cost is $120
