Boba Tea & Gifts Will Close

Sharon Santucci's 5-year-old business closes Thursday.

It's been five years since Sharon Santucci opened her first Boba Tea business, but Boba Tea & Gifts will close its doors for the last time Thursday.

According to a story published in the Elk Grove Citizen, Santucci explained her decision to close the business was a combination of financial struggles, the business never really taking hold with mainstream customers and a desire to take her love of teas online.

In a letter Santucci posted to her business' Facebook page, she had the following to say:

Dear customers and friends,
After five years of serving the Old Town Elk Grove community, we are sad to announce our closing. Our last day of regular operation will be Thursday this week. Starting Friday, we will be selling off our equipment, furniture, fixtures and small tools. Thank you for your support over the last five years. I have come to know a lot of you and I feel very blessed. We will continue with our loose leaf tea business on the internet. Our web site www.teasforfundraising.com is for fundraising sale, but the same teas will be available for retail sale to the public. We are still working on the retail sale web site, you may if interested, contact me via the teasforfundraising.com to send me a message if you wish to place an order or call me at (916) 686-6757. I wish you all God's blessings.
Sincerely,
Sharon Santucci
