Disability Services Center Seeks Creative Souls

Got performing arts experience? A center for developmentally disabled adults wants to meet you. And if you're a self-employed professional—or just want to be—two other organizations are offering career development events just for you.

AIM HIGHER

AIM HIGHER, an Adult Day Program dedicated to helping developmentally disabled men and women hone job and life skills, seeks program instructors with a background in video, theater or music. Experience working with men and women with developmental disabilities is a plus but not essential.

Position:  Program Instructors

Duties: Ability to teach and lead consumers and staff to create video projects, plays and/or musical performances. Instructors must be able, ready and willing to provide hands-on care to men and women who require it, including assistance with eating, toileting and mobility. Program instructors will work 25 -30 hrs per week, between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Requirements: A high level of energy and patience, excellent customer service, and the ability to teach, motivate, read and write effectively. Must clear background check.

Compensation: $11.00/hr  

eWomen Network Luncheon

The Elk Grove chapter of this women's networking group will hold its regular luncheon this week, with a focus on blogging. The group consists of  professionals and entrepreneurs who want to connect with other dynamic women and help each other succeed in this economy.

Boot Camp

The second-largest residential real estate company in the United States, Keller Williams Realty has approximately 80,000 agents throughout the United States and Canada. Next week, the Elk Grove office will host a free boot camp for agents launching or re-launching their careers.
