Are There Too Many Gyms in Elk Grove?

Do you like all of the fitness options in Elk Grove or are there too many gyms?

A new fitness center is coming to Elk Grove and its opening raised a question: Are there too many gyms in Elk Grove or do residents like the vast options?

A quick google search for gyms in Elk Grove found about 20 gyms in the city ranging from CrossFit and Curves to family-friendly gyms and 24-hour fitness centers.

Soon, there will be one more option for residents.

Premier Fitness will open at 9186 Harbour Point Drive in Elk Grove, according to the city’s business license report.

A resident on Elk Grove Online raised the question about how it would compete with all of the other nearby gyms, especially after Gold’s Gym closed.

While we don’t have specifics yet on the new Premier Fitness and what type of fitness services they’ll offer, we are curious about your thoughts on the many fitness centers here in Elk Grove. Are there too many? Do you like all of the options? Tell us in the comment section below.

Thanks for the suggestion. The City is currently studying a new interchange off 99 and Whitelock,Read More and the project is in our General Plan. We’re also updating the Elk Grove Blvd. onramp—currently one of the most outdated on 99 in the region. Work will begin this summer.

An overpass and off/on ramps will be built at Whitelock Parkway after the mall is built, whichRead More should take place after the soccer stadium is built, which should take place after the city secures a professional soccer team. Elk Grove better make sure the professional soccer team is a women's team, or else LaWanna Montgomery will be mad.

Why not down to Grantline and then head back north along the freeway? Plus Kammerer will eventuallyRead More be widened all the way to I-5 and commuters can use that too. Take Grantline to Kammerer to Bruceville.
