DSW Shoes Opens its Elk Grove Store April 4

Designer Shoe Warehouse (DSW) will open its doors April 4 in the location left vacant by Borders Book Store on Laguna Boulevard and Bruceville Road.

The Elk Grove Chamber of Commerce confirms the shoe shopping destination will hold a grand opening celebration to commemorate the occasion beginning at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday.

DSW describes itself as a “shoe shopping destination for style-conscious women and men who appreciate value.”

When it first became clear the retail chain would occupy the large storefront, reader comments ran the gamut. Some readers seemed genuinely excited to see the large store come to Elk Grove, while others noted its close proximity to another shoe store, just across the parking lot.
