They're not saying just when the work will begin, and the gigs are temporary — but the folks at Halloween City are hiring for their stores in Elk Grove and elsewhere in the Sacramento region, including manager positions.
The business that calls itself the "costume superstore" is preparing to open 400 seasonal stores, according to its website.
The stores plan to open after Labor Day and stay open through Halloween. For just over a month, the stores take over vacant buildings and come to spooky life with masks, costumes, accessories and Halloween decor.

Party City, which has a location across the street from the defunct Save Mart on Laguna Boulevard, is also hiring seasonal Halloween employees.
