Poll: What Kind of New Business Does Elk Grove Need the Most?

Coffee shop, family entertainment, high-end shopping? Share your thoughts here.

While making plans to meet a colleague for coffee this afternoon, we got to commiserating about the lack of independently-owned java joints in Elk Grove. (See columnist Jane Gassner's piece about the dearth of locally-owned dining options .)

There's Starbucks and Peets, of course, and we've got a few other coffee-shop-esque places: for salads, sandwiches and conversation. on Elk Grove Blvd for, well, boba tea. But a real, non-chain coffee house with strong brews, quick—but not fast—food, maybe even an open mic night? Not in this town, as far as we know.

Of course, not everyone cares about coffee shops. Some Elk Grovians would rather have a decent place to shop for prom dresses, or take the wife on date night. So today, we thought we'd ask readers, what kind of new business would you most like to see come to Elk Grove? We've included some answers we've heard around town in the poll below. Vote for your favorite, and if you don't like our options, add your own!
