The Fresh Market Plans to Open in Elk Grove
This will be the market's second California location.
The Fresh Market plans to open two Sacramento area locations in the fall — one in Elk Grove and the other in Sacramento.
These two Fresh Markets will be the company's second and third locations in California. .
The Elk Grove location will be in the Laguna Crossroads Shopping Center, on Laguna Boulevard near Bruceville Road, the company announced Thursday. The third store will be located at 2339 Fair Oaks Blvd. in Sacramento.

“We have enjoyed a warm welcome in Roseville, where we opened our first California store this past fall,” said Randy Kelley, senior vice president of real estate and development for The Fresh Market, in a press release. “We are excited about our continued expansion in California, and in the greater Sacramento area in particular, and we look forward to providing customers in the Fair Oaks and Elk Grove communities with the same quality products and excellent customer service that our shoppers experience in other markets.”
The Fresh Market has an “old-world European market” feel and will house a bakery, a meat counter and a large produce department, according to the press release.

“Customers will discover that our stores are committed to variety, freshness and value as well as superior customer service,” Craig Carlock, the company’s president and CEO, said in a news release.
The company also has plans to open several other stores in California. They are currently in development in Palo Alto, Santa Barbara and Laguna Hills.
