Wise Buys Goes Out of Business; What Should Replace It?

With the company gone due to financial turmoil, its space remains open to new possible business.

Wise Buys Liquidators, Inc. wrapped up its going-out-of-business sales recently, bringing end to the company's four-year operation.

In a letter obtained by the Sacramento Business Journal, Wise Buys CEO Gary Cino cites "financial distress" as a major contributor to the company's downfall. The four-year-old company had stores in Citrus Heights, Folsom, Roseville and Elk Grove.

In March, Wise Buys closed its doors in Citrus Heights and by August, the company began liquidation sales at all its branches. At the beginning of the sales, Cino noted they would last somewhere between 60 to 75 days. Those liquidation sales have since ended.

Wise Buys stores were located at 1012 Riley St. in Folsom, Roseville Square shopping center in Roseville and at 8457 Elk Grove Blvd. in Elk Grove.

With the closure of the stores, space becomes available for a new business to take its place. If it was up to you, what would see replace your local Wise Buys store?

Thanks for the suggestion. The City is currently studying a new interchange off 99 and Whitelock,Read More and the project is in our General Plan. We’re also updating the Elk Grove Blvd. onramp—currently one of the most outdated on 99 in the region. Work will begin this summer.

An overpass and off/on ramps will be built at Whitelock Parkway after the mall is built, whichRead More should take place after the soccer stadium is built, which should take place after the city secures a professional soccer team. Elk Grove better make sure the professional soccer team is a women's team, or else LaWanna Montgomery will be mad.

Why not down to Grantline and then head back north along the freeway? Plus Kammerer will eventuallyRead More be widened all the way to I-5 and commuters can use that too. Take Grantline to Kammerer to Bruceville.
