Halloween for teens

How to spend Halloween once you're too old to trick-or-treat

As Halloween grows closer, pumpkins are carved, houses are decorated, and both frightening and humorous costumes are purchased. As always, Halloween is particularly exciting for kids, who can't wait to slip into their costumes and go trick-or -treating. Adults wait by the door, passing out a variety of candy and other sweets. It seems everyone has something to do. But what about teens, who have grown bored of trick-or-treating and are unsure of how to spend the night?

Growing too old for trick-or-treating doesn't mean you can't celebrate Halloween. There are plenty of alternatives:

  • Rent scary movies
  • Pass out candy to the neighborhood trick-or-treaters
  • Throw a Halloween party with friends
  • If you have little brothers or sisters, take them trick-or-treating for a change.

And if you're looking to earn community service hours, a requirement for the majority of high schools in Elk Grove, Halloween is a perfect oppurtunity. Although you may be too old to trick-or-treat for candy, you can always trick-or-treat for charities, like UNICEF. You can also bring treats to nursing homes and hospitals.

Have a great Halloween, everyone!
