There are thousands of cities in the world, each with its own unique characteristics, from town carnivals to great universities to beautiful scenery. Elk Grove has some great features—wonderful parks, excellent schools, interesting shops. But what would really make Elk Grove a great place to live? Here are a few ideas from my wish list:
1) A mall. I know that our last attempt at building a mall was not successful. However, a mall would be a great place for businesses, not to mention a great hangout spot, especially for teens.
2) A man-made lake or river. With summer coming up, what better way to cool off? A water feature would attract more visitors and residents—people who love the outdoors or enjoy participating in water sports, like rowing.
3) A town square. There should be a central area of Elk Grove where everyone can meet up and enjoy their time together. Perhaps there could even be an ice rink during the holidays.
If you could add something to Elk Grove, what would it be?
* A bike/jogging trail that connected to River Road and the Sacramento River * A bike/jogging trail that connects one way or another to Sacramento and the American River trail. Hooking us up with River Road would be a good first step * Soundwalls to limit the din of traffic, especially for Elk Grove County Park * A large regional park on the east side of 99
