Abandoned Cat Needed $2,200 Surgery: Friday is Last Day to Donate

A cat taken in by the Sacramento County Animal Shelter had a $2,200 surgery to repair joint damage, and now volunteers are on their last day of asking for donations for him.

Momo, who volunteers say was found abandoned in a recently vacated home, had Carpal Hyperextension: "He has basically shattered his joint at the wrist, possibly caused by jumping off something too high for him," volunteer groups LAPCATS and Teaching Everyone Animals Matter (TEAM) say.

He recently had surgery to correct the problem, and will now have to spend eight weeks in a cage to recover, the groups say.

They still need to raise about $500 to fully cover the cost of his surgery, and are accepting donations online through Friday.
