By this Friday, we had our answer. A group of Elk Grovians has set up an 'Occupy Elk Grove' Facebook page and plans to meet Friday evening in to hash out the details for an anti-corporate protest right here in chain-store-heavy, foreclosure-plagued suburbia.

"Time to join America and be part of the 99 percent solution," reads the description for the page, which had about 30 fans as of early Friday afternoon.

The group's 'first general assembly' is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. Participants will discuss protest options including gathering near highway overpasses under the slogan "the 99 at 99," according to posts on the page. There's also a Facebook event page for the gathering.

Elk Grove Police Department spokesperson Jim Kang said the department had been in touch with organizers and was sending officers to the event to "monitor the situation and see that things are peaceful."
