I am so thankful that I call Elk Grove my home. One of the many things I enjoy every Spring are the fresh strawberry stands. I look for the OPEN sign starting in February when I can see the fields being prepped. I found my first half flat of the season, just south of Bilby Rd on Bruceville Rd. I spoke with a very pleasant lady there selling the yummy fruit. Her name was Jane and she is a big fan of the Elk Grove Patch. I think you should pay her a visit soon. Oh...and yes, the family is having strawberry shortcakes for dessert tonight : )
