18-Year-Old Shot, Expected to Survive

A man was shot in the stomach and forearm after arguing with two or three people, according to Elk Grove Police.

An 18-year-old man was shot a few blocks away from his home near Laguna Boulevard and Bruceville Road on Thursday night, according to the Elk Grove Police Department.

The man was shot near the intersection of Springmont Drive and Plume Way after getting in an argument with two or three males, the department said. Police were called at 11:14 p.m.

"After the shooting, the suspects were seen leaving the area is a dark colored four-door American made vehicle," the department said in a press release.

He made his way to his home on Verdure Way, leaving behind a trail of blood, and was taken to the hospital by his mother, the press release states.

"Officers responded to the hospital in an effort to gather additional information from the victim," the department said. "Upon arrival at the hospital, officers determined that the victim had been shot in the stomach and forearm."

The victim's injuries do not appear to be life-threatening, according to the press release.

The Elk Grove Police Department does not have a motive for this shooting, and is asking for anyone with information to come forward. Here's how to send tips to the department:
