Cincinnati Reds Fan Robs two Elk Grove Banks, Police Say

Police are asking for the public's help in finding the man.

Was he mad his team was eliminated from the playoffs? Looking for a way to strike back at Northern California in general? Who knows, but Elk Grove police are looking for a mysterious Cincinnati Reds fan who robbed two Elk Grove banks in as many days.

The department said a man wearing a Reds baseball cap robbed the Schools Credit Union on Laguna Boulevard at 5:13 p.m. Thursday and the Golden 1 Credit Union on Bruceville Road at 11:32 a.m. Friday. In both cases, the suspect handed a teller a note demanding money, police said in a press release.

A witness saw a white Mazda 3 hatchback with custom rims leaving the scene of the first robbery, according to the press release.

Here's how police described the suspect, as well as information on providing tips:

The suspect was described as an Asian male adult, twenty to twenty-five (20-25) years of age, five feet six inches tall (5’6”), one hundred ninety pounds (190 lbs.).  The suspect was wearing a red baseball cap with the letter “C” in white, a gray hooded zippered sweatshirt, black jogging pants with a white stripe and black and white tennis shoes.  Today, the suspect was also wearing sunglasses.

Anyone with information regarding these robberies is asked to call the Elk Grove Police Department Detective Bureau at (916) 478-8060 or Crime Alert at (916) 443-HELP (4357).  Callers to Crime Alert can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.00.  Tips can also be sent via SMS text message by entering CRIMES (274637) on a cell phone, followed by Tip732 (agency identification number) and the message.

Thanks for the suggestion. The City is currently studying a new interchange off 99 and Whitelock,Read More and the project is in our General Plan. We’re also updating the Elk Grove Blvd. onramp—currently one of the most outdated on 99 in the region. Work will begin this summer.

An overpass and off/on ramps will be built at Whitelock Parkway after the mall is built, whichRead More should take place after the soccer stadium is built, which should take place after the city secures a professional soccer team. Elk Grove better make sure the professional soccer team is a women's team, or else LaWanna Montgomery will be mad.

Why not down to Grantline and then head back north along the freeway? Plus Kammerer will eventuallyRead More be widened all the way to I-5 and commuters can use that too. Take Grantline to Kammerer to Bruceville.
