Convenience Store Robbed at Gunpoint of Cash, Lotto Tickets

Police responded to the Whitelock Parkway store but were unable to find the suspects.

An Elk Grove convenience store was robbed at gunpoint Thursday, with two unknown suspects making off with cash, lottery tickets and other merchandise, police say.

The robbery was reported just before 8 p.m. at Food Stop, 5650 Whitelock Parkway. Police say two suspects entered the store and brandished handguns at two employees, ordering one to the floor while another filled several shopping bags with merchandise, money and lottery tickets.

The men fled on foot and were not found, the Elk Grove Police Department reported.

Here's how a crime log entry describes the suspects:

[The first suspect] was described as a black male, about 18 to 22 years old, 5-foot-10-inches tall, thin build, wearing a black hooded jacket with a bandana on his face and was armed with a handgun. [The second suspect] was described as a black male, about 18 to 22 years old, slightly taller and thinner than [the first suspect]. [The second suspect] was wearing a black hooded jacket with a bandana on his face and was armed with a handgun.

Why not down to Grantline and then head back north along the freeway? Plus Kammerer will eventuallyRead More be widened all the way to I-5 and commuters can use that too. Take Grantline to Kammerer to Bruceville.

An overpass and off/on ramps will be built at Whitelock Parkway after the mall is built, whichRead More should take place after the soccer stadium is built, which should take place after the city secures a professional soccer team. Elk Grove better make sure the professional soccer team is a women's team, or else LaWanna Montgomery will be mad.

Thanks for the suggestion. The City is currently studying a new interchange off 99 and Whitelock,Read More and the project is in our General Plan. We’re also updating the Elk Grove Blvd. onramp—currently one of the most outdated on 99 in the region. Work will begin this summer.
