Cosumnes Fire Responding to Man Hanging from Downtown Building

The local fire department is assisting Sacramento City Fire with a rescue operation.

First-responders from the Elk Grove area assissted Monday morning with a 17th-story rescue in downtown Sacramento.

The Cosumnes Fire Department reported Monday that its "special rescue resources" were responding to a high-rise rescue operation downtown.

The Sacramento Bee reports that a man was found hanging from a rope at a building at 12th and K streets. The Bee reported that the man's death "appears to be accidental, according to police."

CBS13 reported the man who died was a suspected graffiti artist.

"Investigators say they found spray-paint can on the roof of the building. They also found an etching tool that could be used to cut into glass," CBS13 reported.
