CSD Fire Blood Drive Planned for June 8
Blood donors will receive gift certificates to Togo's.
Local firefighters hope to save lives next week, but not by putting out fires.
The Cosumnes Firefighters Association will sponsor a blood drive at the Cosumnes Community Services District Fire Department station at 8760 Elk Grove Blvd.
It will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on June 8, and will be run by BloodSource.

Donors will receive a $5 gift certificate to Togo's.
According to BloodSource, 17 million pints of blood were needed last year across the country.

"Donating blood is safe, easy and takes about an hour," BloodSource says on its website. "Blood donors must weight 110 pounds or more, be in overall good health and 17 years old or older, 16 with a signed BloodSource parental consent form."
