Missing Person in Custody After Police Pursuit in Elk Grove
Two police cars were damaged in the incident Monday night.
One person was arrested and two patrol cars damaged after a pursuit down Waterman Road and Elk Grove Boulevard Monday night, authorities say.
Elk Grove Police Department spokesman Officer Chris Trim said officers attempted to stop a 2007 Chevy Blazer around 8:35 p.m. for a traffic violation at Waterman Road and Mainline Drive.
The driver led police on a six-mile chase, and officers used a spike strip and PIT maneuvers to stop the suspect, Trim said.

The driver, 26-year-old Sacramento resident Kuris Leo Ambuehl, stopped in front of the Cosumnes Fire station at Emerald Oak Drive and Elk Grove Boulevard.
Trim said Ambuehl was taken into custody "without incident" and was found to be a missing person from the Sacramento Police Department considered at-risk due to mental illness.

He's currently being held in the Sacramento County Main Jail on charges of running a stop sign and evading police officers and is due in court Wednesday.
Two police cars received "minor damage" due to the spike strip and PIT maneuvers, Trim said.
