Police Search for Suspects in Attempted Robbery at Subway

Two teens reportedly asked employees for money, then left without getting any.

The is looking for two young men who tried and failed to rob a Subway sandwich shop in Elk Grove Friday.

Surveillance images show the two suspects, identified by police as white and between 16 and 19 years old, entering the restaurant at 8145 Elk Grove Blvd shortly after 9:00 p.m.

Police say they demanded employees open a safe, then tried to tie up one of the workers. When a customer came into the restaurant during the robbery attempt, the two teens fled the scene.

No weapons were pulled, police said, and the teens left without taking any money.

Police describe one of the suspects as standing about 5'8", weighing 160 pounds, and wearing a green cap, red-and-white striped shirt and jeans at the time of the robbery. The other is about 5'6" with green eyes, weighs about 140 pounds, and was wearing a blue cap, black jeans, and a white hooded jacket with stripes and a gray liner, police said.
