Police Arrest Suspect in Armed Robbery at Mechanics Bank

Bobby Evans, 52, was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail Tuesday night.

Police have arrested a 52-year-old man they say held up an Elk Grove bank at gunpoint last week, before reportedly fleeing on a bicycle.

The Elk Grove Police Department arrested Bobby Evans at his Sacramento home on charges of robbery and parole violation. He was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail and is set to be arraigned Thursday.

The bank robbery, which took place on Valentine's Day at the Mechanics Bank branch at 8235 Laguna Blvd, was the first in Elk Grove this year and caused managers to close the bank for the afternoon.
