Police Search for Elk Grove Bank Robber

The suspect robbed River City Bank on Elk Grove Boulevard on May 2.

Elk Grove Police are asking for the public's help in identifying a man who robbed a local bank last week.

The man police are seeking entered the River City Bank at 8923 Elk Grove Blvd. at 2:37 p.m. on May 2 and gave the teller a note demanding money.

The teller gave the man an undisclosed amount of cash, and he fled the bank and ran west on Elk Grove Boulevard, a witness told police.

Here's how police describe him:

The suspect was described as an African American male adult, thirty to forty years of age (30-40), six feet tall (6’0”) with a thick build.  The suspect was wearing a tan canvas fishing-type hat, a white or tan long-sleeve button-front shirt, khaki shorts, white socks and white athletic shoes.

Anyone with information regarding this robbery is asked to call the Elk Grove Police Department Detective Bureau at (916) 478-8060 or Crime Alert at (916) 443-HELP (4357).  Callers to Crime Alert can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.00.  Tips can also be sent via SMS text message by entering CRIMES (274637) on a cell phone, followed by Tip732 (agency identification number) and the message.
