Suspect Arrested in Attempted Murder
Police believe Lovie James, 52, beat and choked his elderly roommate.
The Sacramento Police Department has arrested an Elk Grove man suspected of trying to kill his 69-year-old roommate after she attempted to evict him.
Elk Grove police put out an alert Friday on the search for 52-year-old Lovie James, who they say punched and choked the elderly woman at a house on Lewie Way February 4. He then poured gasoline around the house, police say, before fleeing in the woman's car.
The beating sent the victim to the intensive care unit of a local hospital for several days.
