Probationer Arrested After Allegedly Brandishing Handgun

Anthony Goodwin, 25, was arrested Sunday night.

Elk Grove police arrested a 25-year-old man Sunday night after he allegedly brandished a handgun at a fellow Elk Grove resident.

Elk Grove Police Department spokesman Officer Chris Trim said the dispute was about the victim's residency, but didn't yet have any other details.

Trim said police responded to the 5800 block of Spring Flower Drive around 9:45 p.m., but the suspect wouldn't exit the home.

"A law enforcement helicopter arrived and made announcements for the occupants to exit the residence," a crime log stated. "The occupants eventually exited the home and [the suspect] was detained."

Police say Anthony Belarde Goodwin, 25, was also found with drugs; he was arrested and charged with probation violations, drug charges and gun charges, according to county records.

He's due in court Wednesday and is not elligible for bail.
