Two marijuana growers were sentenced today for their involvement in separate indoor marijuana cultivation operations in Elk Grove, Sacramento, San Jose, and Milpitas, United States Attorney Benjamin B. Wagner announced.
Chief United States District Judge Morrison C. England Jr. sentenced Hung Ngoc Pham, 31, of Sacramento, to 30 months in prison. According to court documents and proceedings, Pham cultivated 1,059 marijuana plants grown inside four separate houses in Sacramento, Milpitas, and San Jose.

United States District Judge Troy L. Nunley sentenced Dong Ping Huang, 36, of Sacramento, to two years in prison. According to court documents and proceedings, Huang participated in the cultivation of 682 marijuana plants inside two residences in Elk Grove.

Both Pham and Huang were arrested and prosecuted as part of an extensive investigation by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration regarding indoor marijuana cultivation operations throughout Northern California. Assistant United States Attorneys Todd Leras and Christiaan Highsmith prosecuted the cases.
