Missing Teen's Clothing Found Near Sacramento River

Shabnam Ahmadyar, 15, suffers from paranoid schizophrenia, police say.

Elk Grove police said Saturday they have found clothing belonging to a missing local teenager on a boat ramp near the Sacramento River.

Shabnam Ahmadyar, 15, suffers from paranoid schizophrenia and "functions below her age level," according to police. She left her home in the 4800 block of Chamberlin Circle around 4:30 Friday afternoon, without identification or medication, they said.

On Saturday, police found store surveillance footage showing that Ahmadyar was in Franklin Friday night.

Dive teams, helicopters and a U.S. Coast Guard boat crew were helping search the area around the boat ramp Saturday evening, near the 10900 block of River Road.

Ahmadyar is Middle Eastern, about 5'5" and 125 pounds with black hair and brown eyes, police said. When last seen she was wearing a gray hooded jacket and matching pants and had her hair in pigtails.

Anyone with information about Ahmadyar's whereabouts can call (916) 691-5246.
