Sheriff's investigators Friday sought the public's help in identifying a man who allegedly robbed a pharmacy just outside of Elk Grove earlier this week.
Officials released a video in the hope that someone will recognize the suspect and provide the information to investigators.
The suspect robbed a Rite Aid pharmacy at gunpoint about 2:30 p.m. Monday in the 8300 block of Elk Grove-Florin Road, authorities said.
He demanded prescription pills from the staff, Sacramento County Sheriff's Department officials stated in a news release.
He is described as possibly Latino, in his 20s, about 5-foot-6 and 140 pounds.
Officials think he attempted another, similar robbery the following day, about 1 p.m. Tuesday in the 1700 block of Professional Drive in Sacramento, officials said.
In that robbery, the suspect jumped over a counter, brandished a pistol and demanded drugs from an employee before running away.
"He did not get anything from that private pharmacy," sheriff's Sgt. Jason Ramos told Patch.
The pistol in both incidents was described as a small, silver-colored handgun, authorities said.
The suspect wore sunglasses and a hooded sweatshirt in both incidents; in the video of the attempted robbery, the suspect put up the hood on his sweatshirt before jumping over the counter to accost the pharmacist.
