Police believe they're also responsible for an earlier robbery in Elk Grove as well as one in Sacramento.

A man and a woman robbed an Elk Grove Pizza Hut at gunpoint this week, firing a shot into the ceiling in the process, police say.

The Elk Grove Police Department has released surveilance photos and video of the incident, and is asking for help in locating the suspects.

The robbery happened around 11 p.m. Wednesday at 9015 Bruceville Rd., according to a press release. The suspects entered the restaurant through a back door, ordered the employees to the ground at the front of the store, and got away with an undisclosed amount of cash, the release states.

The Elk Grove Police Department believes these suspects are also responsible for a robbery the same day in the city of Sacramento, .

Here's how police describe the suspects:

The first suspect was described as a male adult, approx. six feet tall (6'0"), one hundred eighty pounds (180 lbs).  The suspect was wearing a black ski mask, with a black hooded zippered sweat jacket, white t-shirt, gray sweat pants with black/white athletic shoes.  The suspect wore purple/black/white gloves, and he was armed with a handgun that he held in his left hand.  The second suspect was described as possibly being a female, approx. five feet ten inches tall (5'10"), one hundred eighty pounds (180 lbs).  The suspect was wearing a white hooded “Sacramento State” pullover sweatshirt, a black ski mask, with black sweat pants, black/white gloves and white/black shoes. Surveillance video and photos of the suspects are attached.

At this time, detectives believe that these suspects are responsible for a robbery that took place in the City of Sacramento hours earlier, along with the August 11th robbery of the Holiday Inn Express.  Anyone with information regarding these crimes is asked to call the Elk Grove Police Department Detective Bureau at (916) 478-8060 or Crime Alert at (916) 443-HELP (4357).  Callers to Crime Alert can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.00.  Tips can also be sent via SMS text message by entering CRIMES (274637) on a cell phone, followed by Tip732 (agency identification number) and the message.
