Wackford Pool Still Closed Due to Gas Leak

The center was evacuated because of a gas leak Friday evening.

The swimming pool at the Wackford Community and Aquatic Complex remains closed Saturday because of a gas leak that evacuated the center Friday evening.

Cosumnes Fire Chief Tracey Hansen said the gas leak was isolated to a pool heater at the Bruceville Road community center, and Cosumnes Community Service District staff were waiting for PG&E crews to return and finish repairs before the pool could reopen.

The rest of the community center is open to the public.
