The Elk Grove Police Department will hold "Coffee With a Cop" Thursday.

Elk Grove residents will have a chance Thursday morning to ask local police officers anything that's on their minds.

The Elk Grove Police Department will hold "Coffee With a Cop" events this week, two-hour Q&A sessions between Problem-Oriented Policing officers and residents.

The department hopes it will strengthen its partnership with residents.

"It’s very important that our police officers develop strong relationships within the community,” a press release quoted Elk Grove Police Chief Robert Lehner as saying. “We believe that this type of open dialogue plays a critical role in establishing a true partnership between the community and the police department.”

The "Coffee With a Cop" meet-and-greets will be held from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. Thursday at the Starbucks locations at 8868 Bond Road and 2300 Longport Court.
