Woman Calls in Bomb Threat, is Taken into Custody

No explosives found at apartment on Lewis Stein Road

Elk Grove police rushed to an apartment in the 8800 block of Lewis Stein Road Saturday afternoon after a woman living there threatened to set off a homemade bomb, according to police reports.

The woman called the Elk Grove Police Department around 2:30 p.m., said she was upset, and gave what police called a "credible description" of an improvised explosive she had made.

When police officers arrived at the apartment complex, they say, they evacuated surrounding apartments, called the woman on the phone and talked her into surrendering.
