Woman Carjacked at Gunpoint in Elk Grove

A woman sitting in her car in the 9600 block of Bruceville Road was carjacked by an armed man, police say.

A 19-year-old woman was carjacked by an armed man Monday afternoon in Elk Grove, police say.

The victim was sitting in her car with the window rolled down around noon in the 9600 block of Bruceville Road, according to an Elk Grove Police Department crime log. 

An unknown man came up to the car and put his arm on the window so the woman couldn't roll it up, then showed her a handgun wrapped in cloth, police say.

The suspect pushed the victim into the driver's seat, drove a short distance until another car honked at him, then stopped and told the woman to get out of the car, the crime log states. The suspect also took the woman's cell phone before driving away, police say.

According to the crime log, the suspect is described as "a Hispanic male adult, 6-foot-1, 250 pounds, with brown eyes and long hair in a pony tail. He was wearing a blue short sleeve shirt, white collared T-shirt, blue denim pants and white shoes."

The victim's vehicle is a maroon 2002 Mitsubishi Galant, California license plate No. 5EEW575. The car's right rear is dented and the car has a "Baby on Board" sign in the rear window.
