Wreck on Waterman Road Kills Teenage Boy

Waterman Road is reopened Sunday a.m. after one-car accident

The is investigating the cause of a single-vehicle accident that killed a teenage boy Saturday night after the car he was riding in hit a power pole and flipped over on Waterman Road.

Two other male teenagers in the car, including the driver of the 1998 Buick Century, were taken to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to the Elk Grove Police Department.

Officers closed Waterman Road between Sheldon and Brown Roads for several hours early Sunday morning, but reopened it around 8:30 a.m. The Sacramento Bee reported Sunday that that the  identified the boy as 16-year-old Ryan Richard Boyd. 

Elk Grove Police ask anyone with information to call the Elk Grove Police Department Traffic Bureau at 916-478-8148.
