Anti-SOI Activist Lynn Wheat to Run for Mayor

The longtime resident is the latest person to pull papers to run for directly elected mayor.

Prominent Elk Grove activist has pulled papers to run for Elk Grove Mayor this fall, Elk Grove City Clerk Jason Lindgren said in an email Monday.

Wheat is a member of Elk Grove GRASP, a group opposed to the city's application to expand its .

She has lived in Elk Grove for 21 years and is a registered nurse, ElkGroveNews.net reported.

Wheat is the latest person to enter a crowded mayoral race. The candidates who are currently seeking nomination signatures to be included on the November ballot for mayor are: , , , LaWanna Montgomery, Sophia Scherman and Charles S. Shanks.
