Elk Grove residents will get a chance to meet with candidates for several local offices at a political club meeting this week.
The Elk Grove-South County Democratic Club has invited a number of candidates to its , 8900 Elk Grove Blvd. The candidates are all running for non-partisan offices in the Elk Grove area.
"So far it looks like James Letoa (Elk Grove Unified School Board District 1 candidate); Steve Ly (Elk Grove Unified School Board District 6 candidate) and Lawson Stuart (Pacific-Fruitridge Fire Board) will be there (at least they’re the folks who’ve RSVP’d so far)," club member Nancy Fox said in an email.
She said other candidates who have been invited are mayoral candidate LaWanna Montgomery, Los Rios Community College District incumbent Kay Albiani and Elk Grove Unified School Board candidate Tony Perez. Mayoral candidate Gary Davis spoke at the club's August meeting, Fox said.
"And oh, by the way, at our October meeting (10/2) we will be having a discussion of the 11 propositions on the November 6th ballot that we’ll be having to decide [on]," she added.
